A Little Bit About the Director, Terri J. Vaughn...
Terri has over 20 years experience in the entertainment industry. In 1996 she exploded on the scene with her lovable and memorable character Lovita Alize' Jenkins, on The Steve Harvey Show. In 2005 she added producer to her credits, when she formed her film and television production company, Nina Holiday Entertainment. In 2015 Terri moved into the directing chair and now the triple threat is flexing her talent in all three arenas.
Due to her passion for excellence and affable personality, Terri has cultivated many industry relationships through the years. Mentors such as directing icons Stan Lathan, Debbie Allen and Roger Bobb, have encouraged and supported her career and given her opportunities to shadow on various sets. Terri has used these opportunities to study, grow and to find her own style behind the lens. It paid off when she was offered an opportunity to direct AspireTV's first half-hour comedy presentation, Mommy Uncensored. Later that year, she directed an episode of BounceTV’s Mann & Wife, starring David and Tamela Mann.
Terri directed her first film, the hilarious ‘Friday-isque’ independent comedy, #DigitalLivesMatter, starring social media comedic influencers, DC Young Fly, Emmanuel Hudson and B. Simone. The feature aired on BET October 2017 and is available on all digital and media platforms. In 2018, Terri directed and executive produced Merry Wishmas, a holiday movie starring David and Tamela Mann and Kim Fields. Since then Terri has directed the television movies Angrily Ever After, Hip Hop Holiday, starring Ta'Rhonda Jones and Wendy Raquel Robinson, Christmas Belles, starring vets Janet Hubert and John Amos, ‘Twas The Chaos Before Christmas, starring the comedy duo Sherri Shepherd and Cynthia McWilliams and Dear Santa I Need A Date, starring Ray J, Anne Marie Johnson and Reagan Preston-Gomez. Terri is a trailblazer in front of the camera and is now creating her own lane behind it as well.
Terri has been honored with three NAACP Image Awards for her work on The Steve Harvey Show, is co-owner of the Atlanta based independent production company, Nina Holiday Entertainment and is the founder of Take Wings Foundation (1997), based in the San Francisco Bay Area, mentoring young women growing up in at risk communities.
My goal is to enlighten, encourage and uplift audiences through laughter, cheers and tears. Impacting the world one project at a time!”
